OVY Camp is so grateful to have linked up with the folks at Peace of Mind Structural, Inc., a family-owned and operated general contractor with 30+ years of experience meeting the seismic strengthening, foundation and structural needs of homeowners in San Mateo and the surrounding communities. They are the real deal!
Over the past 6 months, Peace of Mind has DONATED their expertise in all things construction, their time, AND the materials to complete several crucial construction projects around OVY Camp that we did not have the capacity to complete without their help. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Peace of Mind also volunteered at our 2nd Annual Crab & Shrimp Fundraiser back in February!
Their work has only made OVY Camp a more beautiful place for youth to call home in the summer. Caroline, Brandon, Brittany, Brian, and Bob and the rest of the Peace of Mind team have been an absolute pleasure to work with in every conceivable way. I met Caroline, co-owner of Peace of Mind, at a San Carlos/Belmont Optimist Club meeting in September 2022. Caroline was brand new to the club and, upon hearing more about OVY Camp and our mission, generously offered the possibility of doing a few service projects at the camp. After a couple of meetings, we identified a few simple, high impact projects.
One project was to construct a blind around our dumpsters to disguise them when driving into camp. Another project was adding some new trim to the windows and doors as well as repairing some dry rot on a building that will be painted once we dry out in the summer. They also helped repair a couple of finicky doors at our dining hall. Peace of Mind Structural, Inc. are true professionals, kind, and are invested in making the Bay Area a better place.
